Web 2.0 Project-Based Learning

Project Based Learning has been around for over 20 years, but the proliferation of web 2.0 tools has brought/cast a new light to/on PBL. This presentation shows how PBL can be reinterpreted in this digital era so that we can focus on the learning process, address 21st century literacies, increase students´ motivation, break down classroom walls and capitalize on what teenagers have to offer. After a brief theoretical introduction, several projects using web 2.0 tools are showcased to demonstrate that, even with the minimum technological equipment, there is much to gain with this approach.

Presented at 13th LABCI Conference (July 2011, Asuncion, Paraguay) and 9th Southern Cone TESOL Convention (July 2011, Curitiba, Brazil)
